On June 11, 2018, Sabuncubeli Tunnel, which started construction on the İzmir-Manisa highway in 2011, was opened to transportation by Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Transportation, Maritime and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan.

The total length of the tubes is 4065 m, Sabuncubeli Tunnel will reduce the distance between Manisa and İzmir from 45 minutes to 15 minutes and also provide a safer way for the drivers.
